February 25, 200817 yr So know anyone gonna tell me how to get that colouring??? Or am I going to play a guessing game .... LOL ..... You need a yellow face budgie and you need a grey budgie and hope for the best. The nicest YF budgies are the YF grey spangles, I think Edited February 25, 200817 yr by KAZ
February 25, 200817 yr Thank you Neat, the darker grays are those with 1 to 2 dark factors while the lighter gray has no dark factors. Grey is an adding factor so a white based budgie would be grey (vs blue) and a yellow based budgie would be a green grey budgie so you understand how the gene works. To get the full details on Grey Budgies and breeding them you will want to go here The Budgie Place I find this site very resourceful and put very well in words that a novice (such as myself) can understand. February 26, 200817 yr Get yourself a yellow face blue or grey & a grey or blue, This should give you some yellow face grey's. Remember that the grey bird is a blue based bird. So pairing a grey to a green will not get you grey birds.
February 26, 200817 yr unless the green is split to blue but if you don't know the bird's history or have never bred it before you will not know if he/she are split...good point Ikon.
February 26, 200817 yr Hi Neat, Just adding one of mine called Graye.. He's a gorgeous boy, currently in a breeding cabinet! Feathers.
February 27, 200817 yr Hi Neat, Just adding one of mine called Graye.. He's a gorgeous boy, currently in a breeding cabinet! Feathers. HEYYYYYY FEATHERS ..... ( how are you ) I honestly didn't think that there were that many * Proves I am still Blonde (Laughing out loud) Sweet I think that I will have to do more researching I just HOnestly couldn't understand the whole gentics so I am guessing I will throw a couple in and see how we go
February 27, 200817 yr HEYYYYYY FEATHERS ..... ( how are you ) HEEEYYYYY NEAT... I am really good, thanks for asking. Budgies are all good too The genetics for a YF grey is really easy... you just need a YF bird and a grey... 50% chance that you will get a YF grey from the mix. So throwing a couple of birds together sounds like the way to go. Feathers.
February 29, 200817 yr The thing is I still can't grasp the whole gene thing I guess I will hope for the best (Laughing out loud) .... And re read everything all over again
February 29, 200817 yr Cool thing is you don't have to completely grasp it if you take the combo of pairs that others say you will most likely get the results you are looking for
