Hi Guys, I am new here.

I have been keeping budgies since I was 8 years old with the exception of not keeping them for a period of 5 years. I used to keep cockatiels and Little Lorikeets too.

W have a green boy called Frodo who 8 months old (though not quite sure what you'd call him?) and today by chance I brought home a baby recessive pied, correct me if I am wrong. He is not named yet.

I am also a avid fish kepper/breeder though this year I decided to have a break and only my community tank with livebearers are breeding.

Here are some pics

Jess :)

Frodo - I need to get a photo of his back as his wing colour is more green then black markings.

Hello and welcome !

Nice healthy birds, a opaline green cock and yes your right, a cobalt ressive pied. Looks like a male ? A bit hard to tell from that shot.

:)

Welcome :D

Nice birds....your green boy is an opaline green it looks like and your recessive pied looks cobalt recessive to me. I would say hen for the new chick. :D

Hope you enjoy yourself here....we do :) :) :D

I see that you have the new one in quarantine that is awesome :), now the count down.

I agree with Kaz looks like a hen but not sure because of the shot and yes cobalt recessive pied.

The other one is beautiful and I am sure will enjoy his new friend :)

Welcome!!

Hello and welcome! Your birds are very pretty :bluebudgie:

I have a soft spot for both Opaline's and pieds!!

I think Hen too... I know you were after a boy, but hens are just as lovely

Hi and welcome! your birds are gorgeous! and i agree with the others on mutations :bluebudgie:

Thanks for the welcome!

I will take some more photos later on today. I had a tame hen once upon a time, her name was Whisper. She was a crazy girl and very bossy! She would climb under my blanket and snuggle into my side and if I dared move I would get an angry bird and would be attacked :(Laughing out loud): Unfortunately she died at two years of age due to poisoning :bluebudgie:

Sorry about your loss of Whisper... You birds are very cute by the way, expecially the young one.

:ygbudgie: Welcome to BBC, Frodo is very pretty as is your new noname sweetie whom I guess is in quarantine. This is a great forum, may I suggest you start with our FAQS, even if you have had budgies before, just like me, you can learn many new things. :bluebudgie:

Hi and welcome to you and your flock, you have two gorgeous little budgies there  .
