Hi all

 

I just joined this forum as it looks like an awesome resource for budgie information.

I just purchased a new baby budgerigar from a small bird shop to keep my other budgie Conan company.

I have been told that he/she is a light green spangle, and is 10weeks old.

I'm not too sure waht the gender is yet, I will post some images and see what everyone thinks.

I'd say its a handsome BOY!!!

I could be wrong though, there are many who are more experienced than I who will answer too

Hi he/she had some fluff stuck to his/her nose. I plan on letting the new baby grow his/her wings back too. I would love it if the baby is a boy, as I would like to teach him to talk just like Conan does. But even if it is a girl I will love her/him all the same

if your budgie did turn out to be a girl, there could be a chance that she could talk. it is rare for a female to talk but it has been known to happen :sad:

i'm undecided about this ones sex, first looks cock like,second hen like and third could go either way haha i'll leave it for more experienced people also

I know you want a boy , but I believe its a girl and a beautiful one at that .

Hello and welcome! What a little cutie. Not sure of gender though. Your pictures are really cute. If you'd like to add the pictures directly into your post without having to follow a link, you can resize them in photo bucket to 320x240 (website,email). To do this click on edit above the photo you want to change, then the resize tab... this will drop down and provide you with several options. You can also upload your photos in this size to begin with. In the top right hand corner (above where you browse for your pics) there is a heading: max image size. Change this to 320x240 website,email. This way all the images you upload will be this size and can be imported straight into our forum. From here, to add your picture to your post, copy and paste the IMG code... and wella. Your image will appear in your post and be the correct size. :(Laughing out loud):

Hello and welcome to this amazing forum! Your budgie is such a cutie pie, I have no idea about sex as I'm not experienced but I'm sure you'll get the answers you're looking for as there are some fantastic people here.

The cere looks more of a brownish pink then a bright pink cere like a male, I am inclined to say hen also but I can see how this one can be a lets give it 2 weeks and post again .

thanks all, I will take some more pictures in a couple of weeks. Regardless of gender he/she makes a great companion for my naughty Conan. Here's a picture of them below, as you can see Conan doesn't like to share his toys all the time

The new baby is very cute One thing to mention, as being new you may not be aware of important things ike quarantining a newcomer from your existing budgie. To prevent illnesses transferring from one budgie to another it is highly recommended to kep them seperate from each other for at least 30 days.
