March 7, 200817 yr It sounds like the cock bird was feeding it food that it couldn't process due to the age of the chick. It must have been enough to keep one chick alive. As libby said the eyes open around 8 days old. So if the eyes are only opening at 19 days it is very under developed. Not saying it wont survive. I have a yellow face grey that was the same. It is 4 months old now and you wouldn't know it had a hard start.

I too have a very undeveloped chick it is 3 weeks old and only yesterday was one of it's eyes open - it now only has the tiniest bit of feathers on it ..It is a fostered chick as the mother wanted nothing to do with it ....

I'd love to see update pictures too Sorry I was going to put them on last night but as I have slipped 2 discs in my back I can't sit for long. I'll put them on now. He/she has funny feet (I think maybe they are like Liv's Scooter that she rescued from the pet shop?) Trying to run away from me in this one...(Laughing out loud)
