Posted February 16, 200817 yr What do you make of Lovely (to the right on the first picture)? I'm not too good with mutations but he has no "stripes", therefore cannot be a recessive pied? http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i...=11613126" http://i28.servimg.com/u/f28/11/61/31/26/imgp8116.jpg http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=97&u=11613126 Edited February 16, 200817 yr by Elly picture over the size regulations of 450x450, changed into a link, thank you for understanding
February 16, 200817 yr She is a Yellow Face 2 Cobalt (or violet hard to tell) Clearwing Recessive Pied the clearwing is erasing all the marking from her wings and head Edited February 16, 200817 yr by Elly
February 16, 200817 yr I'm not good with this sort of stuff, so I'll leave it for someone else to answer... but BOTH of your budgies are very, very, adorable
February 16, 200817 yr Any iris rings ? Either eye ? Could even be a DF Dominant pied but I would expect to see some dark markings around the head area if it were. Edited February 16, 200817 yr by KAZ
February 16, 200817 yr That is why I was going with recessive Kaz because of the way the blue was structured on her body but excellent question I didn't think of that.
February 17, 200817 yr Author The birds were a Valentine present, I think they're too young to have iris rings anyways. Personnally, I think it's a boy...
February 19, 200817 yr Oh other people have not said it but I did in my first post I also believe he is a clearwing along with the other mutations stated. Clearwing budgies have very light or no markings on head and wings and the body color is brightened. Unless he develops and iris ring and a blue cere then he would be a double factor dominant pied which can be marked like a clearwings. I am saying recessive because of the what the blue is marked on him between the legs and he doesn't have the coloration up by the shoulders like dominant pieds do. Yellow Face 2 Cobalt (or violet hard to tell) Clearwing Recessive Pied and I am going with male too from the looks of the picture. Edited February 19, 200817 yr by Elly
