Posted February 15, 200817 yr Only 3 of these chicks are theirs. The other 3 belong to the pair below this picture as the hen decided she was more interested in the budgies in the next cage over than her own chicks. This is the other couple (albino babies are theirs):
February 17, 200817 yr Author Here is the latest picture I took today: Would someone please care to explain to this here genetics nincompoop, how a (light) lacewing white hen and a gray cock bird parent a Lutino?!?!?!?! Jnr Boss and his missus have a lutino and 2 others yet to be seen. The other 2 bubs are albino (or lacewing) and a LUTINO!!! I thought 2 blue series birds could only have a blue series offspring? Please! What am I missing? (apart from my marbles). Edited February 17, 200817 yr by karen

February 26, 200817 yr Author No editing priveleges allowed so extra post necessary. Lutino from 2 blue series birds is not thier's, I made an error - the skyblue chick belongs to that pair instead. Edited February 26, 200817 yr by karen

I think there is an amount of time before it turns over Karen for editing. Any ways beautiful chicks to say the least
March 13, 200817 yr Author I'll have to update with photo's over the weekend. What I ended up with is 2 ablino (eldest died), 1 blue, 2 yellow lacewings and a green with a pied spot. I had to remove the mother yesterday as she has been attacking the one's that fledge so poor Jnr Boss is finishing off the last 4 by himself.
March 15, 200817 yr Author Been shocking with the updates, sorry guys. The eldest albino died. This is the other albino foster chick - foster mum attacked this bub after it fledged: Blue foster chick - foster mum attacked this bub too after it fledged, can see some marks on it's head: I had to remove the foster mum for the protection of all the chicks. Lacewing chick 1: Lacewing chick 2: photo didn't turn out - it's a boy! Green chick: Edited March 15, 200817 yr by karen
March 15, 200817 yr Author The blue bub is a real sweetheart. We brought him inside for a play this morning and he wandered around for a little while then kept going to mum for a head scratch. Such a sook! and when she left to make a cuppa he was craning his head to see where she went. :(Laughing out loud): What's with the blue tail? I thought blue birds had a black tail?
March 15, 200817 yr My baby blues atm have that colour tail also, perhaps it moults out? Gorgeous birds!!! how'd you get the lacewing chicks again? I forgot the parents?
March 15, 200817 yr Author Scroll to the top of the page. The mother is a lacewing and the father is a recessive pied who must be split to lacewing as I've got 1 boy & 1 girl lacewing.
