Posted February 13, 200817 yr Hi, I have just put in a natural gum tree branch into Coco's cage which I found in my garden. Coco instantly jumped onto it and has started to tear off the bark and chew it up. Is this okay? I gave it a wash with warm water - is this enough cleaning?

February 13, 200817 yr Kaz? Do you have to bake the gum tree branches on low for about 25 minutes I know I had to do that with the maple branches to kill any insects.

I suppose its advisable Elly, but as I give my birds fresh branches with young leaves on them I do not bake....I just wash them well with water.
