Posted February 13, 200817 yr I got Happy at a time my late dog was ruling the roost and to have tamed her would have meant instance death as my SPOILED BELOVED dog would not have obeyed my commands had she got on the floor. In fact, I cannot remember exactly why she came to be here. So she may be older than 10 years and she has lipomas, loves veggies/baths, eats pellets with her treats and enjoys her silly cage mate, Monty. I took her to the vet last year as thought there was some problem with her eyes and got some ointment but basically the avian vet said she was just old looking and she was correct. Happy is first OUT of the cage to bug the cockatiels and other budgies but I do now notice she is napping more frequently, in fact, hard to take pictures as she was leaping about. Any comments about older budgies? She seems fine but she looks not so great.
February 13, 200817 yr I think she's a cutie! and you're doing a wonderful job with her! She looks fit and healthy as old budgies go
February 13, 200817 yr She is very pretty - and is growing old gracefully hehe we posted at the same time before hehe. I hope you can add Happy to the list of senor citizens
February 13, 200817 yr I thought the poor dear looked a wreck so that's why I took her to the vet, but in actual fact, she is perkier than me!!!! (insert a collapse and THUD icon here!) And Monty truly loves her and is constantly feeding and grooming her. And to her credit, she is the one female BIRD, any species who has not LAID an egg in my house!!! And I guess, for the most part, we just see little bubs, and birds in the prime of their life here but, again, this is reality. Edited February 13, 200817 yr by Phoebe
