On my walk tonight i came across this freshly fallen gum tree branch at the park! I broke all the leaves and twiggy bits off, decided it was still too big so took the car and our big branch cutters up to fetch it. Now to decide what to do with it.

 

The big fat one will go to the aviary birds, and i'll probably end up making 2-3 smaller perches with the big twisty one. If this were my house and not my parents i would be hanging the whole thing from the roof as a play tree! (Laughing out loud)!!

Perhaps you could prot it up in a bucket of sand and have it in your room for the birds to play on

I was thinking of something along those lines, it seems such a shame to chop a branch like that into several bits. If i can figure out somewhere to put it (my room is teeny) i'll try that...

I agree, that is a pretty cool branch, tonnes of places to perch there... Perhaps attach it to some kind of a solid log/door stopper/weight, so it can be moved from room to room with you or left out back when un used?
