Injured Budgie

If it's only a "possibility" of it showing in the offspring and it's not life threatening it's your choice to give him a chance at fate i would say :) will his prodigy definatly have it or not.. who knows :) all in your court i think to try or not :)

A breeder I know says some chicks inherit it and others dont. I always wonder about the ones that dont...are they the carriers ?

after what kaz went through, if there was a possibilty that if i breed with a bird and he could pass on a defective gene i would prefer not to breed with him.

I think, wherever possibly your breeding stock must be the best of the best. It's when compromises are made that perhaps issues ensue.

Good decision :)

I personally don't think i would either after seeing kaz' chick :) the poor little soul

that is so true kaz, i am not breeding for show but i still do not want any pet budgies i breed to develop issues.

Those babies were from pet types not show types. Funny how you expect issues from pet types ( as do I ) but not the pet types. And Libby...I know I sent you pictures of the first baby with the cysts but today they were all like that with flight feathers literally "popping out" of the feather follicles under the pressure of the cysts and infections. Also coming out was ingrown feathers. Very very sad.
