Posted February 3, 200817 yr Hi, I have finally got 3 baby budgies. We thought that there wasn't any thing in my eggs, so my sister gave me two of her eggs. So my sister's eggs have hatched, and also one of mine. So it is all very exciting. Here is a photo of the first baby and one of the mother and father of mine. http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii263/b.../IMG_0509_4.jpg http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii263/b.../IMG_0507_3.jpg And also one of my inside tame budgie. http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii263/b...SCF1827_2_1.jpg I will send some others later.
February 3, 200817 yr Very exciting isnt it ? PS remove the eggshells as soon as you can. They tend to wrap around the other eggs and can actually stop a chick hatching from an egg it is wrapped around.

February 4, 200817 yr Author Hi, I had a look at the nest box this morning, and I now have 4 baby budgies! Here is a photo of the two, then three, then four! Also I have had both the Mum (Plum) and the Dad (Cookie) on my hand eating greens out of my hand. What greens are all right for budgies? I have got two other budgies. Two yellow ones. I will put a photo of them on soon.
February 4, 200817 yr Hi and welcome to the forum. Congratulations on your chicks. As the cock is a skyblue split to ???? and one of the chicks is a light green Cock you could get a range of colours and mutations. That chick will be split to blue. A lot of cocks are split to opaline or cinnamon and to find this out, watch the hens he has. This will give an indication. Test Pairings over time will give you some indication to his back ground. The hen appears to be a cinnamon from that front shot but photos can be deceiving. Do you have any other photos of the cock and hen. Especially their backs.
February 4, 200817 yr Author Oops I forgot to put the photos in my last post. Here they are. http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii263/b...13/IMG_7226.jpg http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii263/b...dgiePics001.jpg http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii263/b...dgiePics002.jpg Thanks
February 4, 200817 yr I wouldn't give the Cock or hen vegitables Until the youngest chick is three weeks old. Protien is the building blocks of life and boiled eggs are the easiest why t give it to them. Boil an egg for 20mins. let it cool down slowly. Mash it up shell and all and add one grated carrot. (blender is great for this) give half in the morning early and the other half at night. You can spinach as well to give iron. Egg and biscuit mix you buy is mostly biscuit. but can be used with the egg. *** I also merged the topics for you.. What do you meen by "As the cock is a skyblue split to ???? and one of the chicks is a light green Cock "? Thanks.
February 6, 200817 yr Your chick number two has plum eyes...thats an indicator of either cinnamon or recessive. I cannot see the youngest two chicks to see if they are also. Eldest is not.
February 6, 200817 yr to show cinnamon The cock has to be either visually showing or split I think that is what Daz is trying to say it COULD be cinnamon due to the Plum eyes or something else with plum eyes
