Hello everyone !

My name is Craig, I live on the central coast. I have been breeding budgies off and on since my father built me a aviary in the 70s. I stopped in the 80s and started again in the 90s after I got married. just when I was having success breeding show quality budgies two things happened the kids come along ( not that I'm blaming them ) and a storm, which I lost over 50 of my top birds. Being shattered at the lost and realising that I no longer had the time to put into them, I sold up all my stock and pulled down the aviary to make room for a pool.

But now I'm back! My new aviary is in the making and my now teenage kids are excited to be able to get involved in the

fancy.

In side the 2nd aviary that I built in the 90's brand new not a bird to be seen.

Aviary number 3 is a couple of weeks off, will post pictures of it when it's complete.

I discovered this forum last week and am still finding my way around it. I hope the picture's work as I have over a 100 picture's of my budgies from past and present that I want to share with you all.

I like your ideas of the 2nd aviary, can't wait to see the 3rd aviary.

If you click on my signature It will take you to my website where you might get some ideas for your next aviary.

Thanks Daz

It was nearly 20 foot long x 10 foot wide. Double door entry and window bay which the birds loved. But the only mistake I made was the floor. 3 foot square clay pavers, which was great for the birds and a way in for the white ants!!

The new one is like yours 5 metre by 3 metre on a slab. It will have a L shaped corridor to set out about 30 breeding cages and the rest will be flight.

Sounds great, you'll have to put up the photos.

Hi Craig and welcome to you and your flock. Your avairies look great and I can't wait to see the new one. Good luck finishing it! I hope you find your way around the forum, it's a great place to learn and share knowledge.

Very interesting to follow your journey here Craig. Look forward to your updates

I LOVE the last hen also :P good luck with your new aviary, i hope all goes well for you
