I have recently found a beach near by my home that has pure shell gritt instead of sand. :yellowhead:

 

Would this shell gritt be safe to use on the floor of my aviary, or do i need to keep using the processed type from the shops?

I see no problem as long as you wash it with clean water first

Sounds fine. As Ikon says it will need to be clean as even the ocean dishes up polluted items onto the beach. Well washed, it should be a good solution.
