Hi all, I was just wondering do i have to have rings on my young budgies to sell them to the pet shops? And being a breeder do i have to join a club, we are not interested in showing just breeding and selling them as pets.

No you don't need rings and no you don't have to join a club it's up to the breeder as an individual to take it to that level :fear

Thankyou I wasnt sure wether the pet shops might not buy them cos they dont have rings. I will try and take some pics of our budgies soon i was a bit naughty yesterday and brought 2 a pair and the day before just 1 and today i was back to put 2 breeding boxes on hold as they were cheap i thought for $50 each which has 2 breeding boxes at each end and a divider in the middle..

The ones that're generally divided are designed for one pair even though the divider is there... so just remove one of the nest boxes and use the whole space for 1 pair

Some double breeding cabinets have the removable divider. Comes in handy if you want to share one cock to two hens. Also handy to move the fledged chicks into the other area once parents go down to breed second round. The new breeder cages I have made are three sections with removable sliding dividers
