Stores, Breeders And Vets In Your Area

hi everyone, just thought this might be an interesting thread. I noticed kaz is from perth like me, and i was wondering where you find your birds and supplies?

I used to go to this lovely little place called bird barn, on nickelson, but it has closed down unfortunately.

I went to bird **** once but had a terrible experience, although they have a beautiful range of birds. they had a little playground with young budgies and other parrots that were 'hand reared', but infact they had just had their wings clipped, and they tried to fly away from a prospective buyer. ofcourse they hit the ground and scattered, all the staff were trying to catch them and not step on them. the poor things, how stressful!

however it might be a different story there for aviary birds?

edited name for possible consequences

I'm also in Perth Loreli and i source my birds from all sorts of different locations... Products i buy from pet stores... But birds i get from breeders, some from pet shops... (very few) But many of mine were advertised in the quokka...

I had to edit your bird supplier name due to possible negative consequences but I do agree with what you said about them. We have discussed them before ( not using names ). If you ever want birds there are members on here including myself that often have birds available. I am about to catch up some for sale shortly, and Libby often has birds. I cannot in all truthfulness recommend any particular place to buy your birds from as they are all much the same...each batch of birds is put in with others and transferance if diseases is high, so you are mostly buying sick birds to begin with. Any specifics we can PM each other about so any negatives about specific stores does not reach the wrong ears.

I will have some nice spangles and some nice recessive blue pieds if interested.

No offense taken here...we just have to be careful as the people you mentiuon may see their name up here and in a negative light :P

Please ask about any types of birds you want here first as ...if we dont have what you want we would know more reputable breeders that do...and not all breeders in the quokka are reputable. :)

I am just catching some birds now for Libby.

Very good point KAZ definatly NOT all breeders are reputable in the quokka... some aren't even breeders at all... just dodgy bird horders :S

I'm in Canberra and i've bought budgies from two nice pet shops that are just near where i live, i've also bought some off a neighbour who bred budgies, and i got some from the Canberra Aviculture Clubs annual bird sale last year too. :D

Products i either buy from local pet shops, or online.
