Posted January 24, 200817 yr Hi Guys, Just wonding what is up with my little boy's markings??? he's a a bit of a mess and i hope its just because he is multing. He hatched in early November, so is about 10 weeks old. Also what type are his markings because he has very pretty yellow and green all though them - on his wings, flights and through his head etc too...???? Thanks, Liv Edited August 15, 200816 yr by **Liv**
January 24, 200817 yr Looks like a golden face type 2 skyblue or cobalt normal Very pretty, and YES he would most likely be moulting about now Edited January 24, 200817 yr by KAZ
January 24, 200817 yr Author Thanks KAZ I had a nother look at him... the old feathers are plain white and black, but the new feathers are quite brightly coloured where the white used to be inbetween the black markings.... its like he is changing colour.... He is also a sea green colour... is this because of his yellow/golden face?
January 24, 200817 yr Yes, with his moult the new feathers will start to turn a "sea foam" green it's called as he's a sky blue type 2
January 24, 200817 yr Author His name is Chatterbox and he is turning out to be a really beautiful boy , inside AND out I really love his colour. Thanks for your help... I get sooooo confused with all the different types of mutations and colours There are sooooo many!
January 24, 200817 yr it is amazing transformation when they molt out I love how clean they look and it truly brightens up their feathers you will see within in next couple moults that the yellow face 2 gene will spread on the body because of this some greens are actually YF2 blues but are mistaken for a green budgie.
January 24, 200817 yr I love budgies that colour Liv. I have 2 hens that colour, but their Dad was the first one I had seen that colour and he looked amazing. Here are a few pics of Zeus, Athena (at the back) and Aphrodite (at the back) Edited January 24, 200817 yr by dmcminn
January 24, 200817 yr Author Zeus is a very handsome man :hap: . No wonder all thoes lovely ladies are hanging around him...
January 24, 200817 yr He was, until a couple of months ago, when he died mysteriously. I was devastated. At least he had the chance to pass on his brilliance. Not sure what caused it, as no others perished. He was not old, just fluffed up one day, then went down hill rapidly. Edited January 24, 200817 yr by dmcminn
