I know the pics arent the greatest, but can anyone see cinny markings on "his" wings. He also has violet on his tummy and rump. Oh, and does anyone else think with such a pink cere, it is probably a he. Thanks  I am working with this baby for the next person who wants a hand tamed, cause he has such a lovely nature. I am hoping someone will come along who likes white budgies (Laughing out loud)

what a pretty bird

My understanding is that all cinnamon violets are female?

a real cutie, and will make someone very happy, what ever the gender

No Viv not all cinnamon violets are female :fear just a higher percentage generally due to cinnamon being a sex linked gene.... I can't see the cinny markings :hap: but i do the red eyes B) hey if she's going to a new home... SEND HER MY WAY :hap: JK! gorgeous as always tracy :P

Good to know - Thanks

Im wondering if the colour is violet or is it grey , my guess is albino bred from a blue series bird , but I could be wrong

My guess is recessive pied (because of where the colour is on the body) that picked up a flash in it's eyes to make it red... i think the body colour looks more mauve/grey than violet also

Yes the flash did cross my mind

I agree with Libby I believe it is also a recessive pied and the flash can picture up the red in the eyes due to the recessive gene that they carry (plus their eyes are plum anyways). The bird could also be carrying the full body greywing gene which makes the marking on the wings light and the blue diluted out on the chest which is making the coloring light. The coloring looks more grey or mauve as stated. Yes I agree it is a boy.

Thanks for all your opinions. His eyes dont look red without the flash to me. Probably mauve I think. The parents are Gemma and Stormy. She is a light green recessive pied (I think) and he is a normal mauve. They did throw a normal cinnamon green between them in the same clutch. So I guess he must have cinny in his gene background.

and he must also be carrying the blue gene too :)
