When pied chicks are in the nest before the stage where you can see pins or clear skin markings do they appear to come out a much paler pink/whitish colour compared to other normal birds?

I've just had a dominant pied hen hatch 2 chicks and both appear to be quite whitish so other than waiting to watch them change is it a good indicator of pieds ?

mums a cinnwing dominant pied green and dads a normal green.

not sure on this one as I've never bred pied varieties yet.. but I'm curious also on how to tell if a chick will be pied in the pin feathers/skin.

I believe you can tell but I am not sure exactly how. I would assume the skin would be pink and the feathers white vs in the darker area the skin would be darker. My response will bump this topic back up for other who know better can answer. ;)

At the skin stage and before feathers I have not noticed any way to tell a chick will be pied. It is only with pin feathers that you can tell. In my experience anyway ;)
