Posted January 12, 200817 yr These chicks all had black ceres and beaks when younger and now I'm finding it hard to tell what they are, I think they are all girls: They are 10 weeks old now. Also does purle cheek patches mean violet and blue cheek patches mean blue in colors? 1 and 2 both girls? 3. Girl? 4. Girl? 5. Girl? 6. Girl? 7. Girl? Second lot of chicks now 9 weeks old: 1. Girl? 2. Boy?

The colour on a cere comes in around their first moult and its easier to tell the sex then for most people. Experinced breeders can tell at a much younger age.
