Posted January 6, 200817 yr just wondering if greywing budgies are more expensive than other budgies because i really like the colour of them like this one: http://www.budgerigars.co.uk/images/greywg.jpg than Edited February 1, 200817 yr by Elly changed to link as the picture is over the 450x450 guide reguations, thank you for understanding
January 6, 200817 yr I havent found any of my greywings to be more expensive than my other birds... it's the places you go where the price changes, not generally the mutation unless they're greens... my skyblue greywing was ten dollars as a bub from a local enthusiast... whereas the two i bought from a pet shop were 25 each... all depends on where you go and size of bird of course... it's a given show types will be more expensive Edited January 6, 200817 yr by *libby*
January 6, 200817 yr Its not that greywings are more expensive as they arent, but they are classed as a rare variety and not too many breeders are breeding them. There are some greywing specialist breeders in Perth and they may well have one they can sell you at petshop prices. If you need a contact let me know. But a search of petshops and bird dealers will eventually get you one. Cheers kaz Edited January 6, 200817 yr by KAZ

What do you want if I can get you a nice bird ?
January 6, 200817 yr Author my favourite type of budgie would either be a greywing like in that picture above or a yellowface type 2 with the blue body and yellowface
January 6, 200817 yr Andrew, if you would like to come to a budgie club meeting sometime...just let me know. Our meetings will now be held in Bassendean on Saturdays once a month and you can get there by train. I will collect you and take you to a meeting. Lots of birds on show and lots of contacts to buy better birds than the ones you see in petshops :rip:
January 6, 200817 yr I dont know if its just the picture but it looks like a normal grey to me , but I cannot see the tail feathers so not 100%. Also if you plan to breed greywings remember they are recessive and so can hide the greywing gene in a normal looking bird . They are nice birds though.

January 6, 200817 yr o well i typed in greywing in on google and that is what came up and underneath it it said greywing budgie.. my mistake! but r they still expensive??? a normal grey budgie is common and not expensive
February 1, 200817 yr I have 2 greys and i only payed $10 each for them one was from a breeder and the other was form a pet store
February 1, 200817 yr It's a terrible photo. It appears to be a normal grey to me but the back ground colour being dark might have changes the lighting level on the wing markings.. a dark bird should be photo graphed with a light background.
February 2, 200817 yr That looks like a normal grey to me also. Greywing budgies should not be any more expensive than normal color types. Heck, my greywing budgies were free! (babies, LOL)
February 2, 200817 yr Author (Laughing out loud) thanks rainbow but its okay im not getting a greywing or a normal grey, ive already got a yellface blue http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....c=17899&hl=
February 2, 200817 yr Andrew, your yellowface is just lovely. I have to tell you, the bird in your avatar reminds me so much of my Rainbow, only yours is not diluted. I'm sorry if I should know this, but what is the bird's name in your avatar? My Rainbow (RIP):
February 2, 200817 yr Author sorry for your loss Rainbow unfortunatly i dont know the name of the bird in my avatar as i got it off google sorry im sorry about Rainbow
February 2, 200817 yr Ah, no problem! Thanks for the kind thoughts. He has been gone for awhile, but I still have some birds from him, in my avatar, the three starting from the right. Edited February 2, 200817 yr by Rainbow
