What To Do If Female Seems A Little Too Aggressive?

Haha I sure hope so. I am a little worried though, the females tail has been bobbing up and down today. I know that can be a sign of a respiratory problem, but I also heard that if a females tail is bobbing, and she is breeding then its nothing to worry about.

Hops, please relax a little, give the budgies time ALONE and just wait and see. Your anxiety and stress and peering in all the time might be affecting the birds :bluebudgie:

Think calm thoughts :angel1:

Haha okay sounds good. My plan today is to just stay out of the room they are in for as long as I can, and go in as little as possible.

I agree with Kaz, just relax & let nature take it’s course…most of the things you describe are just normal Budgie behaviour…& with mating they are together 24/7 it’s sort of rare even when you have large numbers of birds to see the actual mating & still you get fertile eggs in most cases.

Alright so today, so far Ive only been in the room a couple times to get things from there. I was just in there about 5 minutes ago, and I saw my male trying to mate with my female. I didnt want to walk out really quick because it might disturb them. I stayed really still. The male didnt achieve the right position, and fell off. I walked out after that. I am happy that Ive seen them attempt to mate 2 days in a row, and who knows they could have tried this quite a few times today :hap:

Even the best of budgie dads fall off a few time when they first start trying to make budgie babies. I have had a few boys I saw fall off time and time again and thought they were hopeless, but we still got babies from them. :hap:

Thanks for all the encouragement :fear. Im not really expecting any eggs yet, but I will watch out for some signs.

By the way if you guys put leg bands on your babies, where do you guys order from?I found a couple websites. I think I will order from here: http://www.abs1.org/bands07.htm , but does anyone know how quick they ship so I know when to order?
