I purchased a new budgie today, and tonight when I had her out I noticed she was watery, light green poop. I looked in her cage and most poops are normal, others are watery. Is this something I need to be concerned about, and if so, what can I do?

 

She is in quarantine in the house, the other birds are outside in the aviary, so no concerns there.

Sometimes the stress of moving to a new home can cause abnormal faeces.

I'd keep an eye on her, just in case.

 

Call where you purchased her and find out what they fed your budgie such as greens that could make her poo this color. I agree it probably is stress the water part just trying to figure out the coloration reason. As long as it is not a bright bright green everything is probably okay. If you find she still has water poos in 3 days and/or there is a behavioral change such as being fluffied up, can't perch, water eyes, sneezing then I would get her to an avian vet or take her back to where you purchased her if they have a guarantee.

If the Droppings are watery in the morning but turn firm during the day , you may fing the cage is too cold during the night or you may have something disturbing it during the night and its a stress dropping , I would not give any green or soft food till the dropping returns to normal.

If the dropping is wet all the time then you have picked up on an early possible disese , best then to again move your bird away from the rest of the flock , no soft food or greens , make sure they are not cold and monitor them, if the dropping becomes greener in colour then see a vet as Elly says .

All appears normal this morning, she must have been a bit stressed last night. It was a long trip home on a hot day so not surprising.
