My little baby zeus has been doing alot of screeching lately...does anyone know why budgies do this? its like hes trying to get my attention or something??

There are different types of calls that budgies' do..

 

There is the over and over chirp which is calling and should be ignored.

Then there is the acking acking where they are banging around again to be ignored.

 

The more you pay attention to them during these periods the worse it will get because yes they want your attention. Remember in a flock budgies are always together. As a sole budgie they have to learn it is okay to be alone and it is okay to be with you too at certain times.

 

Pretty used to do this a lot as a sole budgie so if he got to a point where it was too much I would cover him up until he calmed down and then uncovered him and walked away then I would come back and give the attention. Always give attention when they are quiet .

:ygbudgie: Like Elly said, it is most likely an attention seeking thing but do make sure there is enough food and water in the cage with toys to stimulate and make your budgie happy.
