Hello there my name is Kristy and yesterday I just bought a little 6-8 week old male budgie called Zeus :hap: I am not sure what type he is, maybe someone here might be able to help me :hap:

Ive never owned a bird, have only had a dog so this is all very new to me! :rip:

Do you have any pictures,

That would be great :rip:

Welcome being a new budgie owner is fun and some times can be frustrating and that is where this forum comes into play. Being here for over 2 years with my first budgie I found this forum to be so informative and supportive. Please look around and up on top you will find the FAQ section which has been expanded greatly. Wonderful information there to answer many questions.

Hi there and welcome to the world of birds .

If that is him in your picture from what I can see he looks like a normal cobalt blue

Happy bird keeping :P

Its normal for a couple of reasons. Some budgies do it after being in a much bigger cage and suddenly in a smaller cage.....its a kind of jailbreak mentality.

Others do it from nervousness.

Others just do it to get back to where they think all the other budgies are.

^_^

Welcome, your little one reminds me of Harley.

As for pole pacing (that's what I call it) Blue does it alot. Just check that the perch has nothing that he can snag his feet and make sure that you do not use the sandpaper perch covers as these ripped open Blue's feet and freaked me out with him bleeding everywhere.

:P Welcome to the forum, it's great that you are investigating about your pal, shows you are a truly MAGNIFICENT pet owner, you have come to the right place, have a good read and enjoy! ;)
