I just bought a 9 section budgie breeding cabinet off ebay which is about 30+ years old and needs a good clean.

 

If I decide to paint it, so it spruces it up and makes it all the same colour, what type of paint do I use? do I also use the pale blue (that show cages use) or white?

 

I also just bought 3 single & 2 double breeding boxes, a holding box which can be divided in 2 and a hospital box which needs a new glass front.

 

Yes I've been busy (Laughing out loud).

 

I gather I would paint these other breeding and the holding cage the same colour too.

 

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

I would imagine any child safe paint would be appropriate. Our member Daz knows of a safe paint, so a PM to him may be of help.

Pale blue for show cages ?? NO.... show cages are white inside and black outside. No pale blue in a show cage.

you can use food colour for budgie toys, but breeding cabinets are much larger.

I use Dulux 101 wash & wear.You can then give it a wipe down & keep them clean.

I might be a bit costly,but at least you can wipe out the cages.

High gloss is the fume-y paint with the harmful chemicals. Best not to use the high gloss.

I use any type of waterbase paint , and gloss enamel on the outside of the showboxes , you can now though get waterbase gloss paints which would be easy to clean .
