Food for the little ones

Hi All,

If/When Ganda finally lays some fertile eggs and they hatch, I know Ganda will feed them but is there anything in particular that she will want to give them?

I have heard about some people supplying wet food? Seed with water? Egg mix with water? Shat should I supply her with to give to the chicks?

Thank you for your help.

Chris

Mine kept to their same diet, but with a craving for veggies. Especially baby spinach. Their veggie intake about tripled, but they were used to eating them anyway, so I gave them as much as they would eat. The cuttlebone got shredded, and as far as seeds/pellets go, I kept that the same. I also used to put a sprig of millet right outside the opening of the nest box so Skittles wouldn't have to leave if she got hungry. She would just poke her head out. Egg food I'm told is very good, but I could never get my birds to eat it.

i give egg food and i think 80 % of the pairs eat it

At the moment they are both on regular seed mixed with 30% egg food (all dry), veggies and 1 millet per week. The egg food packet says use it wet but they didnt like that so I mix it dry and they love it.

We will get there... :bluebudgie: Still working hard on a larger indoor aviary.
