After re-arranging my avairy, I want to add natural some perch's. I have read on here, and other places that Bottlebrush is a good one, and as we have a tree in our backyard, it would be very convenient. Does anyone know if I have to do anything to it before putting it in... dry it etc??? or can I just cut it off and wack it in (Laughing out loud). Also, do I need to remove the flowers and those small round nut/seed pod thingemajigs? or can I leave it all on. Thanks :(

I give my birds bottlebrush & the birds love it. I just give it a squirt with the hose to clean it . thr birds will strip it down in no time leaves & bark.

Can you really give budgies all those different types of branches....in the UK we're told only apple and pear branches.......we have eucalyptus, grevilleas and callistemons here..would they be safe to give?

eucalyptus is great for them and they love it, I put a branch in my birds cages and they go nuts. Not only do they eat it like mad they also love playing in the leaves and hidding.

I know that Blue love the gum nuts not to eat so much but picks them up and throws them around or at the other birds!

they love a mix of different things. Mine have natural eucapyptus branches and they get as many leaves as I can gathe on a regular basis. They also get clippings off grevilleas, callistemons, gum trees(eucalyptus trees), bottlebrushes, and now mulberry trees, as well as regular feeds of corn and spinach.

It is important to mix things up. keeps them active and tryign new things as well.
