Posted November 29, 200717 yr Here is Pretty, one of my favourites and her fella Lemon. He has the spot behind his head, but I couldnt quite get it in the picture. They only had one baby last time, and this time they have two. Any ideas on the colouring of the yellow baby? I want to keep that one Baby1 Baby2 the flash washed out some colour, but it is a light yellow colour
November 29, 200717 yr Hard to tell without front on shots to see stomach colour, but you could have anything with that combination. I mean, you have a YF2 sspangle that is split to recessive pied mating with a grey sominant pied opaline. What could come up, *** anything. I am not even sure how to guess here. let me start with these things Chick 1 - grey based, spangle wings, no clear bars on head due to the pied, Chick 2 - YF2 blue based pied - very few markings due to pied nature, yellow has washed thoughout the body, so YF2, but you can see some grey/blue on the rump Any help anyone?
November 29, 200717 yr Author Hehe........thank you for your comments, at least it gives me some idea From memory, the front of the yellow chick is all yellow, but I will remember to check that.
November 29, 200717 yr I have just had two chicks similar to your top one Grey Spangles, I’m suspecting they are also Dilutes, as Dave said it also has Pied in it. The Yellowish one may have Dilute also, it may be YF2 but I can’t see much Yellow in it’s face, it also may be Clearwing & have the influence of Spangle too.
November 29, 200717 yr Author It looks grey under its chest, didnt have time this morning to do more than look before work. I'll get a picture in the next few days.
