With some borrowed cages I thought i would snap off some shots of all of my young birds in the cages to help judge their sizes and such.

First all show a couple of new ones:

They look terrific Nerwen, and some of them are really tall and long in the show cage and standing so well on the perch

thanks Kaz, I was proud of how the last two posted behaved at the club meeting on Monday night for the table show, but it did help to see the difference between them and the other birds. But I'm happy and have plans for next year's breeding.

Its really interesting once you begin to show and see results in the nestbox. I have only just begun to notice the improved quality of feather and the longer masks on some of my babies. I had a stunning dark green hen chick and was about to put her picture up when her foster mother killed her and the other two chicks to "clean out" her nestbox for round two. My first such experience and so very sad, so very disheartening. I may post her picture in memory of her...she was very nice

A close up photo, would of been better. The photo a bit far away to see the birds propley.

Nerwen come on and tell that you came third with one of your nest feathers and due to a mix up it was third against the open breeders.

I think that is a very good achievement. :)

Macka I can show you close ups as well, this was giving the same distance (or close to) from each bird

Daz- it was great to have some birds in the table show :) Third was fun, but I don't see it as something to boast about.

Here are some close shots:
