It sounds urgent to me ...........start phoning the vets in your area and ask.

I took my sick birds to an avian vet at Austral. It is out bringelly way. You can look up the phone number there.

 

they were great. All up it cost me $75. That was for the intial consultation, they took her overnight, but a splint on her leg, then there were two follow up visits where they checked on her, and eventually removed the splint. All of them were free of charge. not sure if that was their policy, or for me.

 

I would call them and make an appointment, or even go straight there.

Sounds like a very good recommendation and a reasonable price too

I agree you bird needs a vet ASAP we also have an Avian Vet Look-Up in our FAQ section under Health section.

You can also call them and get estimates. Most of them will do a poo exam, swap of the throat, weigh them and a general exam that I what I received. Find out exactly what they will do...some may recommend x-rays to get a better look. Great advice Dave and Kaz, I agree with them completely.
