Posted November 13, 200717 yr I found some posts about beans, but couldn't find which kinds are okay to feed. One post said Mung beans - I've seen Mungo beans here (little green beans), is it the same? Or what other kinds of beans do you feed? I would like to cook them and mash them into the egg food - is that okay? Thanks a lot
November 13, 200717 yr any type of bean would be okay I would stay away from canned beans because of the high content of salt. There are none on the unsafe list when I looked it up
November 13, 200717 yr your welcome, I just went to the store and bought a lot of yummy stuff for Merlin. I am going to use the chopper and chop it and then add his seed in the mixture. Best time to intro new food is the 1st feeding or the last one at night that is why budgies are more open to eating because they are hungry .
November 14, 200717 yr Author Yes, my budgies always eat early in the morning and late afternoon - I think that's what they do in nature. So I feed them these times and they eat almost anything I give them :grbud: I just thought I would make them a nice egg food with veggies and beans - so they get more nutritions, because it's winter.
November 14, 200717 yr You are right about that Zebra, they eat early & late & in the heat of the day sit chatting to each other in the branches of trees. Like they still do in aviaries.
November 14, 200717 yr I use mung bean and premium wheat in a soaked seed. The funny thing is the budgies mostly go for the soaked wheat
