I had a my first case of savage hen syndrome…I haven’t seen that before, the hen was one I bred & she was mated with the only cock that has so far been fertile from the 3 I bought from the bird sale in June. Previously they seemed to be getting one real well. They had already had one batch of about six chicks & I think now she has eight hatched [maybe that’s why she got mad]. Yesterday I just noticed her chasing him from one end of the cabinet to the other & he was getting stressed & I don’t want to loose him, so I have removed him. I don’t know what to do, as I only have a few batches & most have large numbers of chicks, I have put him in an empty cabinet, maybe I will try him with some of the larger chicks.

Your idea about trying him with some of the chicks might work Norm, but in a new location he may not recognise them as his. Let us know how it goes.

It seems to be working Kaz, I haven't in fact seen him feed them, but they have good feed in their crops & when he goes close to them, they don't beg for food so they seem okay. She is feeding the others. They are just over the spin feather stage, but they may be feeding themselves as well.
