Posted November 4, 200717 yr Hi there, we bought our first budgie about 4 months ago, sadly he passed away a couple of weeks ago. So a week ago we got the kids a new budgie after reading up on them a bit more and hope that this little fella lasts a bit longer than the last one. This is Billy(our kids choose the names, he's named after a combination of Billy Idol and Billy Bob Thornton (Laughing out loud)), his full name is Billy Bob Idol Can you tell roughly how old he is looking at him, and also what colour type he is. Thanks for letting me join so we can get some great advice
November 4, 200717 yr Welcome to our forums. I am very sorry to hear about your first budgie passing away. Pretty passed just about 1 1/2 after we got him it shows how delicate they are even though they are represented as very hardly parrots. If you could get a closer shot of him without the flash that would be easier to see what he is. His wings pattern looks brown on my computer but is it brown or grey? He looks like a type 2 yellow face where he is a blue bird and the yellow from the face bleeds into his wings and body. . Again welcome, and love the name.

Hmmm a picture without the flash, I'll have to get my other half to do that (Laughing out loud). His wing pattern is grey. He's not in the best of moods at the moment, I tried taking some closer shots of him and he got out, wasn't impressed with me chasing him around the laundry trying to catch him again.
November 4, 200717 yr don't worry and stress him out anymore today If his wing patterns are a grey he might be a Yellowface Type 2 full body greywing.
November 5, 200717 yr It seems he is the type Elly thinks. But a closer photo when you can will help. Looks a cutie Great to see you have a natural tree branch in there instead of dowel perches. You might want to take the bell out, as they can get possessive over bells ( They see the budgie reflection in the bell as their friend and not you as there friend. Then they get possessive over it and start to bite you if you go near "their friend". ) Happy to have you here. You will learn a lot here. Its also one place you can get soppy about your budgie and people won't think you are weird ( like some friends and family do )
November 5, 200717 yr :ygbudgie: Welcome to the forum, Billy Bob Idol :(Laughing out loud): and MyTribe! Sorry to hear about your first budgie but he may not have been in the best of health when you got him. Some stores do purchase "bird mill" birds dirt cheap or he may not have had the best of care in his first 5 or 6 weeks. May I suggest you start at our FAQ section, it gives you invaluable information on nutrition, taming, caging requirements and so much more. Thank you for posting your pictures the appropriate size and we look forward to more!
November 8, 200717 yr Author I've got a couple of more pics of him, the other half still hasn't worked out how to turn the flash off on the camera so unfortunately they're probably still a little too bright.
November 8, 200717 yr I stick with my first decision...his wings look brown but I think that is the flash because his flights look gray. What a cutie
