November 3, 200717 yr The first thing you should have done is quarantine your new bird from the existing bird to ensure he was not ill or carrying any illness that could be passed on. 30 days is recommended for quarantine. The next thing when you introduce new budgies is to gradually introduce them over a period of a couple days where they met but are not housed together to ensure there are no territorial issues like you are having now. To ask you a couple questions. 1. How big is the cage? 2. What is the sex of all 3 birds? 3. Are they fighting over any particular item or another bird? 4. How old are all 3 birds and how long have you had each one?
November 4, 200717 yr :ygbudgie: All VERY good questions Elly, quarantine first of all and adequate cage size. Being involved with animal rescue, MANY pets (not just birds) are housed in too small cages. Pet shop employees will tell you ANYTHING to make a sale. :yellowhead:
