hi

a few days ago twos of my budgies have been chatting each other up and trying to mate!! (fudge and PW)

Yes Budgies don't recognise each other as Brother sister or father daughter etc.

It is common for a father to attach his new son thinking he is a rival or even trying to mate with his daughter when she leaves the nest.

I remember when i was a kid we had 3 main budgies, cookie (a male) mrs Helena And sharpBeak (mrs Helenas and cookies daughter) and with one chop to the head sharpbeak killed mrs Helena :fear

Budgies are a vicious bird. Nice when tamed but ... Some are not so nice. I have just under 90 birds now and you must alway keep an eye on them.
