Hmm....yesterday i was checking the cabinets out....and all was well.....

 

However....the afternoon was a different story....

 

In one nest box the oldest of 4 chicks (3 weeks) was dead.....I did not have any problems on there first clutch...

 

The next cabinet which 8 eggs.....every single one was kick out of the nest box...then cracked open in half....

all but one egg was fertile....their last clutch was fine...all hatched and all survived.....

 

This sought of situation i find very frustrating and sad...

 

On top of some earlier dramas i didn't need this....Oh well on we go.....

 

Things must start heading upwards from here...I hope.....

Not a good end to your birthday celebrations Paul Things like this go in fits and starts and we begin to wonder which of the almighty powers we have upset . As you say....things have to get better from here. :angel1:

Sounds like you had a rough day! Hope it gets better for you.I cried over every egg or baby I lost,I'm absolutely hopeless with the breeding.Thats why I stopped.I'm sure you will have more successes in the future though Paul.

The frustrations of breeding I am sorry Paul , it will be better as you are very dedicated to your program.

Sorry to hear of your losses Paul. I started breeding Budgies when I was about 8 year old & at first used to get really upset, then at some real young age I realised that if I wanted to keep living things & especially breed I had to accept that they don’t always make it. Death is a part of life, it can’t be avoided & it’s never a happy advent, but it will happen, all we can do is accept it & hope it doesn’t happen that often. All we can do is our best.

SO sorry to read about this. You have such great successes with your breeding program usually. Sometimes it is hard to know 'why'?
