Anyway she said that she gives her's a crumbled up weetbix every morning, is it okay to do that?? I would just check the ingredients on the side of the pack and make sure it is low in salt and sugar as some brands would be healthier than others. I would say it would be okay though. Our aviary birds often get multigrain bread, soaked and softened for a change. They look forward to it. :budgiedance:
October 30, 200717 yr Hi Denise, I give mine (translation; he steals mine) cereal every morning. I only have wholegrain cereals, which he loves. I think weetbix should be okay, but as Kaz said, just check the ingredients. Aly

November 5, 200717 yr I think it would make a nice soft food for them. I might get some to have around for my guys. Thinking about it, i wouldn't mind some with milo on top for breakfast... :(Laughing out loud):
November 8, 200717 yr Hi Denise, My budgies love the occasional bit of weetbix, but you have to keep in mind that some of the ingredients & minerals in it can be harmful. Such as zinc, which is very toxic to birds in large amounts. I just checked on the box and there is 1.8mg of zinc per serve (2 weetbix biscuits), which isn't all that much, however, budgie are quite a bit smaller than we are, so perhaps it should be given as a treat.
