October 17, 200717 yr I think any breeder will say it could have been so many different things and the answer will really be unknown. I am sorry to hear about your loss
October 17, 200717 yr Some babies die at that age due to their inabailty to cope with some diseases that their parents may have, may carry and can live with but their hatchlings cannot. In a lecture tonight at our budgie club we learnt that babies die at that age due sometimes to Coccidiosis even if the parents are carriers but not showing signs. Solution, if it becomes an issue ( more chicks dying the same way ) was to put coccivet in the parents drinking water. Also french moult babies will die in the nest at that age. Its natures way of getting rid of the problems and allowing the strongest to survive. It's hard when it dashes our hopes and excitement over potential feathered families
