Posted October 16, 200717 yr Naughty children were mating and laying eggs before I could prevent it so I let them go a round 2. There were 9 eggs, but I checked on Sunday and I confirmed 4 as definately not being fertile. The others I'm doubtful but you never know.
October 21, 200717 yr Author I hope they do well as the eggs had gotten very dry & some were starting to crack with the heat as the mum didn't go out for a bath. I ended up misting the eggs.
October 27, 200717 yr Author I am happy to say that I am completely wrong! All 5 eggs have hatched! The last 2 have pink eyes!
October 28, 200717 yr Author Jnr Boss is Recessive Pied split to Lutino & Supermum is Albino (bought bird).
October 28, 200717 yr Jnr Boss isn't split to cinnamon is he? Hence the pink eyes of a young cinnamon.
October 29, 200717 yr Author Jnr Boss isn't split to cinnamon is he? Hence the pink eyes of a young cinnamon. No, Recessive & Lutino back 3 generations. Maybe they were red eye, they all look pink to me at that age! :(Laughing out loud):
November 6, 200717 yr Such cute babies and such a variety in one clutch! Where would the blue be coming from?
November 6, 200717 yr where would the blue be coming from? Hi Lucy, the albino is a blue based bird and the recessive pied split to lutino would also therefore be split for blue. Feathers. Edited November 6, 200717 yr by Feathers

November 17, 200717 yr Author This one has fledged: and so has this one: these ones have yet to fledge (can you see mum in there?): I have another Lacewing! How is it that I have not been able to breed a copy of Jnr Boss? He has fathered (I dunno) about 35 chicks and not a single one has been Recessive Pied. He has fathered a number of Lacewings hens which I'm blowed if I know where it comes from as I know his family back 3 generations!
