Posted October 15, 200717 yr Any suggestion about me building an aviary? I want it pretty big, so I could fit maybe minimum 20 budgies. In the winter here, it only gets about (to a LOW, very LOW of), maybe, 30 degrees. In the summer, it get really hot, up to 125. (its all in Feranheight). What should I do about the weather conditions and my budgies? Thanks... ~~~~
October 15, 200717 yr In the FAQ section there under Cages there is an article and even examples of Daz's aviary.
October 15, 200717 yr Here is a topic I did regarding the upgrade of my aviary. >Upgrading an Aviary< Hope it helps.
October 16, 200717 yr 30 degrees wouldn’t be a problem with Budgies 125 is pretty high, but Budgies come from areas in their native state that have high temperatures, so it shouldn’t be too much of a problem, also on days of extremes you could assist with spraying them with water & in other ways.
October 17, 200717 yr 125 F is 50 deg C that is some thing to be worried about. I have had 42 in the aviary this year but the birds were all down in the concrete keeping cool. But I wouldn't want it getting any higher.
