Posted October 8, 200717 yr Tori is aprox 3 months old, the breeder originally thought it was a male, but now thinks is a female. Can anyone give observations on if they think if Tori is male or female? I know I can wait till older to find out, but hopeing someone might be able to tell before then. The cere is mostly white but here is a picture: http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x271/ra...es/000_1867.jpg This photo has been changed to a link as it exceeds board guidelines. October 8, 200717 yr Author thanks that's what I was hoping for and seemed to me I was also told by someone she was a type 2 yellowface? I'm new to the yellowface and not sure how to tell them apart at young ages. Edited October 8, 200717 yr by Ravengypsy
October 9, 200717 yr Yellowface is the description of the yellow on her head. There are 2 types. They YF type 1 where the yellow is restricted to just the mask area of the face or the Type 2 where the yellow can bleed into the body of the bird and other parts. Tori to me looks like a Type 1.
October 9, 200717 yr Hi Ravengypsy, Congratulations on getting the little girl you were hoping for. You will be able to tell after Tori goes through her first moult whther she is a YF type 1 or a YF type 2. If she is a type 2 some of the yellow will 'bleed' into her chest area and turn the feathers green. Tori sure is beautiful. Feathers.

(Laughing out loud) Luckily she's just starting her molt now, so I should be able to tell soon. She sat on my finger while I played a computer game for about an hour last night. She's sweet as can be, and the most tame of my budgies.
October 10, 200717 yr Also with Yellowface the type 1's should have white wing markings although some can still have light cream marks instead, so it's best to wait for the moult to know for sure.
