Posted October 8, 200717 yr Hello everyone, I live with a blue budgie named Napoleon. There's a story to him. His original house-mate (my mother-in-law) moved to Alice Springs, and didn't want to take him due to his tempermental nature. I offered to adopt him and have had Napoleon living with us (myself & my partner) since January this year. Since M.I.L departure, he has become quieter, more withdrawn and frankly unhappy. I have come a long way with him (he doesn't flap into the sides of the cage and panic when I come within a metre of his cage). He loves interacting with my partner but unfortunately my partner doesn't want to have anything to do him. Despite not being able to go near him to much I still think he's a delightful if not neurotic little creature. I'm thinking of either seeing if he'll take to another budgie (non-breeding partner) or just cut my losses and look for an aviary owner. If anyone can offer any advice on this situation I'd be more than grateful. Babuska (aka Teagan, Perth)
October 8, 200717 yr Welcome Babushka! Please look at our FAQS on taming tips, may you have good luck with him!
October 8, 200717 yr If you are thinking of possibly adding that second budgie, can I ask what size cage you already have and is it big enough for two ? Also, if you do decide to add another budgie you will need to quarantine the new one for minimum 30 days in a separate place and separate cage. We have a lot of members on here that are located in Perth, including myself. Feel free to contact for any other help. Cheers Karen
