How They Kiss You?

How is your bird kissing you?

Is he just biting lips or he somehow different?

I get budgie kisses when Blinkie gently nibbles my lips or even just touches his beak to my lips. :)

**just wanted to add i also get cockatiel kisses cause Bailee runs over and presses his beak into my lips. Budgies could do the same thing i guess.

:) Glad Bea can help you out, have never had budgie or cockatiel kisses, just lovebird smooches! :P

Scooter gives me kisses on my nose. I'll ask him if I can have a kiss and he runs up and either waits for me to give him a kiss (nose to beak) or he'll come up and nibble on my nose. It's so cute cause he'll start purring when he does it. :D

Billy doesnt kiss! He bites! HARD he loves lips and its like he's trying to find out how we talk and nips you. Its a very un-sociable habit and he has no shame in biting new guests. We try and distract him, but its not easy. He said 'dont' and 'hi' this week. :D

Each of my birds is different, Sara , if she wanted a kiss she would come close to the lips and make a loud kiss noise with a quick head movement, but if the kids ask her for one she would just stretch her head and open her beak waiting to be kissed. Birdy used to nibble on the lips or the nose like a pruning action, Now I have only Tim-Tam who started with a painful bite, but I am sure he didn’t mean it because quickly he learnt that it is not nice and now he kisss like Birdy, either he would prune or just open his beak slightly with his tongue pushed out a bit and closes his eyes, but whatever way it is very pleasant feeling.

:bluebudgie: Like I said before, NONE of my budgies or cockatiels have ever given me kisses but Phoebe the lovebird LOVES to smooch me, she repeatedly touches her beak and cere against my cheek and holds it there;one of my latest black faced lovies does the same thing, presses against your cheek and holds her beak there. :dbb1:

I think it is a matter of personality, some like kissing while others show their love in different ways like us people. So don’t worry Birdluv, your birds love you and I am sure they have million ways to tell you that.
