October 28, 200718 yr Author Couldn't find the appriopriate hen to transfer eggs to, so if all 9 eggs hatch I will transfer some chicks to other nests. ***Todays note is first chick hatched out of 9 possible eggs. October 28, 200718 yr Author Checked the nestbox again to find there had been a first chick hatched yesterday to this pair. Went unfed and died. The chick today is the second chick and has been fed. There are another 8 eggs left, so that makes 10 eggs this pair had in the nest.

Lets hope they're all fertile and you can foster some chicks out! It will be interesting to see how many are lacewings :bluebudgie: Shame about the first chick, very sad...... Yes...The hen is a paranoid one and I wasnt expecting the arrival. We were at that wedding too, so I missed checking for her chicks or I could have saved it.
