I have 6 birds iin an avery.

All were sitting on eggs

2 sets had two batches of infertile eggs.

one has two babies about 7 days old.

I had a case of scaley face with one of the femails and removed her from the cage.

She had been in the breeding box for a long time and I thought this may of contributed to her problem.

I blocked of two boxes as I thought the birds have been I long enought.

Now she is looking better I wounder if I put her back in the avery will she hert the babies or want to take over the nesting box. Would it be safer to waite until the breeding pair finish.

Spray the nest boxes with Vetafarm AIL while they are empty. You can spray the adutl birds no problems. . Wipe the hens cere and feet with good quality baby oil once a day for four days. You can leave her in the nest box.

If you have had her out of the aviary for some time I wouldn't put her back till the breeding has finished, as she could start fights. If one of your birds has had scaly face you will need to treat the whole flock, as all will have it now, whether you can see it or not. I use Ivermectin on drop per bird. It lives on the birds so treated in this way it will be eradicated.

PS. Scaley mite is a mite that lives on the birds, just in case you don't realise, it's nothing to do with how long they have been breeding or anything like that.
