I just wanted to fins out what my two boys are. I'll give you my ideas then you tell me what you think.

Here is my first little guy:

I believe he is a yellow face type 2, either a dilute or graywing because of his body color, clearwing?

can't tell you about genetics but can say that they are both gorgeous.Love the first one and the softness it has to its colours.

First one looks like a violet double factor dominant pied

the second one you said is a yellow face because of the blue or he could be an olive bue he also looks like a dominant pied but from the front he looks recessive (Laughing out loud). :)

second one is not spangle. But your first one is..:)

The markings around the head are strong enough to be a normal. So I will say spangle and being pied the piedness is masking the spangle..

Misty does your pied have markings on the under side of his tail like this?

I can't tell with the lines around the eye if they are a grey colour or black, Could you let us know Misty?

I would guess violet yellowface recessive pied, we would have to wait for iris rings or change of cere colour to be sure tho. I don't see ANY markings on the wings to tell spangle and the tail will be all white due to the pied gene.

The second: dutch dominant pied cinnamon, either a dark green or olive.

The markings around the head aren't strong enough to be a normal. So I will say spangle and being pied the piedness is masking the spangle..:D

Sorry because there is no edit button on this post I change are to aren't.

Nerwen there still might be spangle markings on the under side of his tail. Misty can you look please?

The bars on the first budgie are light enough for cinnamon to be a consideration> I see no signs of spangle.

Cinnamon or one of the dilute genes are possible. Misty can you let us know the colours of the bars please.

They are gorgeous Misty! :ausb:

Do they have names yet?

New pics, hope these help out some!!!

dilute can fit with the blue pied.

The 'green' is a bit harder, the yellow is very strong for a yellowface/goldenface at this age. The fact you can see blue doesn't always mean yellowface as blue is part of a normal greens. Olives can show some blue in certain lights and with flash.

What about the wing color on the green one, would you say graywing?

Edited by Misty

Hi Misty,

the 'green' one is a cinnamonwing. Kaz pointed it out earlier. They can appear to be grey, but you will find that it is actually brown. It is an easy and very common mistake to make, I've done it myself.

Feathers.

Your birds are both difficult, as I think they have quite a few different mutations in them. My guess of the first one is Yellow Faced 2 Blue [Cobalt] Dominate or Recessive Pied [if it doesn’t get an iris ring later you will know for sure Recessive] & I would guess Clearwing as there is something affecting it more than just Pied.

The second one, Golden face or Yellow Face 2, Blue [Cobalt or Violet] Cinnamon Spangle.

The second one, Golden face or Yellow Face 2, Blue [Cobalt or Violet] Cinnamon Spangle.
The markings on the lower section of wings indicate that this bird is NOT a spangle as the cinnamon markings are not on the edge of the feathers but the reverse. The spangle type markings on upper wing area show like that when opaline is involved.
