Posted September 25, 200717 yr Hi All I think my budgie must have been a acrobat or gymnast in a past life. In his active stage of the day Mitchell has started doing somersalts. Not just 1 or 2 in a row, but constant somersalts for up to an hour. I didn't think he was ever going to stop this afternoon. He seems to love continously somersalting on his perches, from the walls and roof of the cage and even does little commando rolls along the floor of the cage. He seems to be happy. Has anyone witnessed this behavior in budgies?
September 25, 200717 yr i have had a budgie that did the exact same thing back in the day... i was only a kid... he's was a little escape artist too and i left the pegs off his door one day when we fed him out the back :S havent seen him since i have no idea whether it's a good or a bad thing but it did seem to keep our bird very entertained too and it never had any health problems for the period of time we had it so good luck with your bird and just remember the small price you paid for you bird has bought you a personal full time entertainer hehe
September 27, 200717 yr maybe he is entertaining himself? Maybe a new toy would distract him from acrobatics? I find that my budgies get bored of a toy after a while and start playing with the handle on cage roof hanging upside down. if i put in a new toy they seem to stop. He sounds like a funny fellow!
