March 24, 201015 yr I've heard of another few pink/red budgies. (goodness knows if they've been dyed or something though). I'm not sure of the site where they posted it but here are the pictures: What do you guys think of these?

I'm not sure of the site where they posted it but here are the pictures: What do you guys think of these? Like I said to JB pulling random photos off the net with no accompanying info is likely to get you misled. I have seen these photos before and the talk that went with it. Another example of fake pink budgies
March 24, 201015 yr I think it is very overious that those birds have been dyed with food colouring. There are no PINK BUDGIES & never likely to be.
March 24, 201015 yr and here is the article/discussion that goes with jens randomly posted pink budgie photos http://www.budgerigars.co.uk/forum/showthr...dgerigar-photos you will note the pink colour is over the top of other colour making it an APPLIED colour.........an ink or dye Edited March 24, 201015 yr by KAZ
March 24, 201015 yr That 'pink budgie' in the last photo looked really pretty.... fake, but pretty. If I had a pink budgie I'd probably hand it over to expert breeders to breed.
March 24, 201015 yr This and the other 'pink' budgie topics remind me of the movie 'Groundhog Day' Cull/petshop topics too >
March 25, 201015 yr This and the other 'pink' budgie topics remind me of the movie 'Groundhog Day' Cull/petshop topics too > No way how can you say that??? You see its become clear to me that no matter how many times we tell people it's impossible to breed a pink budgie, people who know better will say it is SOOO... let them spend their whole life trying, infact, give them hope so they keep at it (because lets face it after 50 years they'll probably want to give up). And guess where they'll find the perfect birds to do it... ... ... Did you say Petshops??? YES!!!! YOU ARE RIGHT!!!!! The birds you need to breed pink (or red or scarlet or any other shade of red you can think of) are for sale at your local pet shop!!! I feel like saying, "I'm Big Kev and I'M EXCITED!" March 27, 201015 yr Hey Kaz- do you remember a few yrs back there was the 'coloured chickens' on here I think. That had dye injected into the egg and the chicks came out coloured? I reckon that may work - have a crack http://www.poultryhelp.com/coloringchicks.html Edited March 27, 201015 yr by the pie
March 27, 201015 yr and did you expect anything other from me then a link that doesnt work :hooray: okay I put a different one up- search for pics on there yourself or type in coloured chickens in google
March 27, 201015 yr so many topics i have seen about pink budgies. if it was naturally geneticly possible yes it would be amazing, but as to my understanding its not. dieing budgies or coulouring their food in order to make them pink is cruel in my opinion, to be honest some people are going way to over board with creating the ultimate budgie, a pink budgie. despite all their efforts and unique ways of trying to acheive this it has not yet been possible. and i hope it wont ever be possible, because if we are to geneticly modify a budgies genectics and such no 'original' budgie will be good enough and eventually be fazed out, as has happened in many other animals. i understand the curiosity of the unknown, and how we ponder on what is possible.but pink budgies are not. this is just my veiw point, i do hope this doesnt offend anyone as that was not my intentions. xx
March 27, 201015 yr You wont offend anyone here LBB :hooray: Theres a small minority that believe in the possibility of the pink budgie, another smaller minority that believe every pink budgie scam out there and most of the rest of us that are a little more "grounded".
March 27, 201015 yr pfft who wants red or pink budgies when youve got all the other colours of the rainbow.
March 27, 201015 yr Apart from red and orange..... when I was eight I had a budgie with orange markings..... from the pet shop that sells pink cockatiels. It was sick and died shortly after. :hooray: Edited March 27, 201015 yr by Ratzy

March 28, 201015 yr Yet despite the fact that most don't believe it possible to have a pink budgie, this thread continues to thrive... :hooray:
March 28, 201015 yr Gotta keep the dream alive mate. :hooray: ME- I think it would be quite impressive to see a whiteface-green dominant pied (with the white belly) We all know how much Kaz Loves this thread- just thought we'd keep it running for her (sorry Kaz) She will be cursing my return by weeks end Edited March 28, 201015 yr by the pie
