Posted September 19, 200717 yr What are the possible outcomes for either of these pairings? Moody Blue (Cobalt Spangle Opaline) with Stoney (Normal Mauve) Yes, he really is THAT dark! OR Moody Blue (Cobalt Spangle Opaline) with Cobalt (Dominant Pied) Come to think of it, in that picture I just realised he is clearflighted . . . and just for fun, here is another picture of Cobalt that I like . . . September 19, 200717 yr Normal Mauve X Cobalt Spangle Opaline Cobalt Normals Mauve Normals Cobalt Spangles Mauve Spangles (that would look great) All males will be split opaline. Of cause surprises with recessive and sex-linked genes are possible. Cobalt Dominant Pied X Cobalt Spangle Opaline Cobalt Normals Cobalt Spangles Cobalt Dominant pied Skyblue Normals Skyblue Spangles Skyblue Dominant Pied All males will be split opaline. Of cause surprises with recessive and sex-linked genes are possible. I just realised he is clearflighted This doesn't mean he is a clearflight pied as well, it's simply how the pied gene acted on his wings. He is an australian dominant pied or also called banded dominant pied. ALso you should enter that picture in Budgie of the Month Edited September 19, 200717 yr by Nerwen

September 19, 200717 yr sorry nope, unless the sire is split for opaline. Keep in mind the males will be split for this and if paired to an opaline hen will give more opalines.
September 19, 200717 yr I think MOODY BLUE is a sky violet not cobalt. The colour is much stronger and there is the violet hue around the mask and shoulder area. Sky violets appear cobalt but once you learn to recognise the sky violets it becomes easy. The dominant pied boy also has violet in him.
September 19, 200717 yr I'd agree with Moody blue as a sky violet, I did wonder before but thought I would put forth the results as a cobalt. Not so sure with the pied (is his name Cobalt?)
