father and mother are both normal budgies.

Do you know any of their parentage?? I thought crested was a genetic trait :budgiedance:

crested is a recessive gene Riebie.

I don't know how the pins grow in for crested budgies sorry. Has there been any signs of attack in the nest?

Give it another week & post another photo. There is a different feather direction there. But it dosent look to be a tuffed, half crest or a full crest.I would like to see another photoin a week,to compare photoes. It not a feather pattern I have seen on a crest. :D

I haven't seen this mutation before.I'll post another photos next week.

Try wiping the babies head with a damp cloth. Reason I say this is....just in case it isnt a crested....I have had chicks look like that. It turned out to be parents messy feeding and the head feathers got a little gummed up and stayed "parted" for awhile. When the chick was cleaned up there was no crested look. :D

Its still cute, maybe one of the parents is a budding hairdresser!!!! :(Laughing out loud):

It will be interesting to see later pictures, maybe you have a new mutation.
